You will Learn:

Usually big business comes to mind when you think about branding. But branding your art business is just as important.

If you have ever experienced any of these:

  • Slow or no sales.
  • Had trouble being consistent with your marketing materials and messaging.
  • Had trouble making decisions on which marketing materials to use.
  • Been frustrated with how/which social media platforms to invest in.
  • Wondered if you should or should not have a website.
  • Should I sell at shows? Online? Have a store?
  • Not be accepted into the best juried shows.
  • Been worried about all the financial costs.

Then this workshop will help you answer all of those questions plus many more, set a clear direction and plan of action.

Shane Durnford is a master on this topic, having helped small business owners define who they are and who their best customers are. This process includes everything from your logo, signage, printed materials, display, advertising, packaging, website, to what to wear and how to sell yourself. It all starts with YOUR story. It is a powerful narrative that sets the structure that everything else is built upon. This workshop will give you a road map on how to do it all and present a consistent message. Ultimately leading to bigger sales and the right kind of customer.

We will work through all of the facets of branding your art business in a step by step workshop style. There will be plenty of opportunities for discussion and feedback for every participant. This is a small group so this is a high value workshop.

You will also receive an additional half hour consultation and coaching follow up call on Skype with Shane, sometime after the workshop when you are ready to get feedback on your progress.

Shane Durnford is a Registered Graphic Designer and Signcrafter. Shane quickly became known for not only his superb hand crafting skills but also for his novel image consulting and design services, across various mediums: logos, websites, promotional/advertising material, illustration, corporate branding, and showpiece signage. His unique branding approach is sensory storytelling crafted for maximum impact and multifaceted visual imagery.

Shane’s work and articles have appeared in international trade publications.  His work, as well as articles, are well respected within the industry. He has hosted design workshops, for participants from as far away as Australia. He is retained as key note speaker for branding strategies by municipalities.

Social Media Analytics for Artists- 1pm-5pm

In this workshop founder and senior partner of GILL Solutions Management, George Gill, will be diving into social media analytics as it applies to your marketing efforts. Social media can be an expensive strategy both financially and via sweat equity so understanding the direct effects as a marketing strategy is crucial. Furthermore, the ability to clearly identify what messaging is resonating with your audience the most is a direct path to greater results with less effort.

Social media analytics reveals what’s working, what needs work, and what’s a complete waste of time. Knowing this allows you to focus your efforts to maximize results and use your time wisely.

  • Analytics can tell you what messaging is resonating, but furthermore what messaging is supporting sales!

  • Analytics can inform you of critical metrics - like how many visits it takes for a browser to become a buyer

  • Myth: Facebook doesn't work for my business

  • Myth: Social media doesn't sell art

  • Myth: You have to be on social media...and the list goes on.

Fact: Traditional Marketing, Networking, Online marketing, Social media are ALL methods of reaching your potential audience. The difference of online and social media marketing is the ability to evaluate performance at a micro level to improve results. No other medium has this level of capabilities to analyze through analytics. Are you tapping into this power?
Join us for a packed day focused on getting concrete results from your social media efforts.

You will achieve an understanding that will guide you to better results in less time. George will teach the following components:

Part 1: Social tools such as Facebook, Insights and Hootsuite Analytics to analyze past performance while making better content decisions going forward.

Part 2: Google Analytics analyzing driving traffic directly to your website from social media channels and the direct effect on investment.

Attendee Takeaways:

You will leave the workshop with definite steps for analysis that you can apply to your business immediately. You will be able to identify next action steps to take, and how to evaluate the impact of these steps.
